Robert Leland Bair

Robert Leland Bair ( Bob) passed away peacefully on Thursday Sept 6, 2012. Robert was born in Chicago, Ill on January 21 1930 the only child of Herman Lindsey Bair and Mary Letitia Nevin. He grew up in Davenport, Iowa, which he loved to call his hometown. In 1949 he graduated from Davenport High School, Then went on to attend St. Ambrose College and later BYU. He got a degree in Geography and History. In 1954 Robert was Baptized and Confirmed a member of the LDS church. He loved to tell jokes and always tried to brighten peoples days by them. He moved to Downey and married his wife Carol Rae Lowe on April 7, 1971 in the Logan LDS Temple. Out of all of the jobs that bob had he enjoyed teaching kids the best, he worked with the Special Education kids the most. He retired to Downey until his death. he was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Carol Jane Hawkins, and a granddaughter Rachel RaNae Peterson. He is survived by his Wife of 41 years, Carol Rae Bair of Downey, Daughter Mary (Leon) Peterson of Pocatello, Son in Law Chris Hawkins of Pocatello, 8 grandkids, Damon Jordon, Crystal (Tyson) Williams, Zylor and Bradon Hawkins, Shawn, Eli, Ashlyn, and Denver Peterson all of Pocatello. Funeral Services will be held at 11 am, Monday Sept. 10, 2012 at the Downey 2nd Ward building with Bishop Rick Armstrong officiating. There will be a viewing from 9:30-10:45 before the funeral. Funeral services are under the direction of Horsley Funeral Home, Condolences maybe sent through the Horsley funeral website.
