Robert James Treasure

Robert James Treasure, 75, long-time resident of Malad City Idaho, died on Wednesday, February 5th, 2015 at McKay Dee Hospital in Ogden Utah. He was born in Downey Idaho on April 24th, 1939 to John and Mattie Treasure. He was the 5th of 7 children. He was educated in Marsh Valley High School. He married Roxie Ann Taylor on February 13th, 1960 in Pocatello Idaho. They made their home in Bancroft Idaho where he first started to cut meat. The family then moved to Malad in 1961 where he worked for a grocery store as a meat cutter. In 1972 Bob opened his own custom meat cutting business in 1972 called Treasure Pack. Bob and Roxie had 4 children from 1960 to 1970. He dearly loved his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He had a love for cooking, music, camping and taking the dogs for walks and rides and was active in the Malad fire department from 1969 to 1989. He supported the school kids on their fund drives and purchased many many animals from the yearly fair. He was awarded a plaque from the Oneida County livestock sale in 2012 for his many years of support for the fat sale. He loved talking to people and telling stories, he was always happy and wanted to share that with everyone he met. Anyone that came into the shop always got to hear a joke or a funny story or both. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him. He is survived by his wife Roxie, 4 children, Steve (Linda), Jeff, Scott, and (Terry) Jana Davis, all of Malad, 6 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, 2 brothers, Barry (Diane), Ron, and 1 sister Marylyn (Rex) Daniels. He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 sister and 2 brothers. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 11, at 12:00 noon in the Malad LDS 5th Ward Chapel 20 S. 100 W. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home on Tuesday, February 10, from 7:00-8:00 pm and on Wednesday from 10:30-11:30
