Robert Henry Evans

Malad, Idaho… Robert Henry Evans (“Bob”), 83, lifetime Malad, Idaho resident, passed away February 11, 2018, surrounded by family.

Bob is survived by his wife, Mae Evans; his children, Robert Alan (Sandy) Evans, Susan (Kay) Cox, Teresa Evans, JoAnn (Ryan) Rohleder; his siblings, Wilma Fridal of Tremonton, Utah; Nedra (Richard) Preece of Vista, California; Raymond (Annette) Evans of Layton, Utah; William Donald (Chris) Evans of Malad, Idaho; and Brother-in-law Verdean Daughtry. He is predeceased by his sister, Marcia Daughtry; brother-in-law Keith Fridal; and his parents Raymond and Mabel Evans.

Bob was born on April 16, 1934 in Malad, Idaho, as the fourth child of Raymond and Mabel Evans. Bob was raised on his parents’ farm in Malad, Idaho and graduated from Malad High School in 1953. On July 7, 1961, he married the love of his life Mae, of Deweyville, Utah, in the Logan, Utah LDS Temple. Together they raised four beautiful children, who became the most important part of his life.

Bob was a devoted father and husband. Bob dedicated 32 years of work at Thiokol as a plant operator and spent the rest of his time raising beef cattle and dry farming. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, going for long rides to see the countryside and snowmobiling. After retirement, Bob enjoyed traveling with Mae and his sisters. They had the opportunity to visit Alaska, Hawaii and the Panama Canal. His favorite time spent was with his 18 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 17 at 11:00 a.m. in the Malad LDS 7th Ward Chapel, 400 N. 200 W. Friends may visit with the family that morning at the Horsley Funeral Home from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Burial Will follow in the Malad Cemetery.
