Robert C (Bob) Green

Malad…. Our loving husband, father, grandfather and friend Robert C. “Bob” Green, 76, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 28th, 2013 surrounded by his loving family.

Bob was born February 1, 1937, in Tremonton, Utah to Evan D. and Norma Harris Green, the second of five children. He enjoyed a childhood full of mischief, twin brother by his side. He attended schools in Tremonton, graduating from Bear River High School where his participation in baseball, football, and basketball led to a lifetime love of sports.

An active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, he served an LDS mission in southern Australia and later in many callings. His strong testimony was a great example to his children and grandchildren.

Bob married JoAnne Fuhriman in the Logan LDS temple on November 9, 1961. He finished his education at Weber State University, obtaining a degree in Business Management.

He enjoyed a successful career as a purchasing manager for companies in Utah and California before settling in Malad, Idaho. He and JoAnne purchased and operated the Kwik Stop for many years. There he made many lifelong friends and enjoyed working with the community and the many lottery “folks” from Utah.

In 2001, Bob decided to retire for good, selling the business and devoting his time to family and to his other true love: the great outdoors. He spent many years traveling between St. George, Utah, where he loved to golf, and Island Park, where the fishing was best. He especially enjoyed entertaining the many friends and family members who wanted to fish or vacation with him at “the Cabin” on Henry’s Lake. Hunting with his boys was always a priority.

Bob is survived by his eternal companion, JoAnne, sons Gregg (Johanna), Geoff (Shelley) and Bobby (Tori) Green, all of Malad; grandchildren John, Cydnee, Griffin, Hayden, Rachel, Drew, Brooklyn, Hallye, Madi, Easton, Shancee, Saige, Hazen, Riggin and great granddaughter, Adlee. Also surviving are siblings, Carol (Fred) Rucker, Steven (Kathy) Green, and Roger (Karen) Green, sister-in-law Sharon Green all of Utah. He was preceded in death by his parents and twin brother, Richard.

Funeral services will be held Friday, May 3rd, 2013, at 12:00 noon in the Malad LDS 4th Ward chapel, 20 S. 100 W., Malad, Idaho. Friends may visit with the family on Thursday evening at the Horsley Funeral Home, 132 W. 300 N., Malad, from 7:00-8:00 p.m. and on Friday from 10:30-11:30 a.m. prior to the services. Internment will take place in the Malad City Cemetery.
