Funeral Rites For Richard Williams
Funeral services for Richard Williams. 83 who died at the Oneida hospital Friday night, were held at the stake tabernacle Tuesday at 12 noon. The speakers were Bishop W. W. Thomas, E. E. Richards, and H. L. Mills.
Musical numbers were a duet by Fay Hanson and Wanda Napier accompanied by Mrs. S. A. Hendricks: Solo. Margaret E. Jones accompanied by Mrs. Hendricks; duet Mrs. Lurline James and Prof. S. M Powell. The prelude and postlude were played by Mrs. S. A. Hendrickson.
The invocation was by Norman Crowther the benediction by W. H. Richards Sr., and the prayer at the home by Sam K. Williams of Jerome. The grave was dedicated by J. Guy Benton.
Richard Willlams was born July 17, 1861, in Larkashire, England. At the age of two years, he came in with one brother. They crossed the plains to Salt Lake City in 1863 having joined the Latter Day Saints church.
He was married to Isabell Anderson in 1887 and they made their home in Wanship, Utah, where he engaged in farming. In 1906 the family moved to Malad where they have resided since.
He is survived by five children three sons and two daughters Richard Williams Los Angeles. Calif.; L. J. Williams of Malad; Ralph Williams of Montrose, Colorado; Mrs. Sam H. Williams of Jerome, Idaho; and Mrs. Olive Mitchell of Malad.
Nineteen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren also survive and well as one brother, Joshua Bates of Wanship, Utah.
