Pocatello, Richard R. “Dick” Jones, 75, longtime Pocatello resident and husband of Peggy Evans Jones, passed away on October 12, 2009 at his home. Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 19, 2009 at the Horsley Funeral Home, 132 W 300 N, at 1:00 p.m. Friends may visit with the family on Monday from 11:00 – 12:45 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Malad City Cemetery.

POCATELLO – Richard R. Jones of Pocatello and formerly of Malad, died Oct. 12, 2009, at his home of cancer.
He was born November 10, 1933, in Malad, Idaho, a son of Thomas T. Jones and Mary H. Jones. He was raised and educated in Malad and was a graduate of Malad High School, class of ’51.
After school he went to work in Malad for the Idaho Transportation Department.
On July 1, 1954, he married Peggy Evans and they moved to Utah, where he went to work for the Corps of Engineers in Hill Field, and then went to work for the road commission in Salt Lake.
He was transferred to Pocatello and went to work for the Idaho Transportation Dept., for 37 years until his retirement in May of 1992.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy; they were married for 55 years; two children, Lucinda (Stuart) Wilcken, Micheal (Stacy) Jones; three grandchildren, Richie, Thomas, Jacob. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, who was killed in World War II and also two sisters.
Funeral for Richard will be Monday, Oct. 19, 2009, at 1 p.m., at Horsley Funeral Home, 132 W. 300 N., Malad, Idaho. Viewing will be held two hours prior to the funeral. Burial will be at the Malad City Cemetery.
