Richard Alvin Nelson, 89, passed away peacefully on October 10, 2015, at 2:00 am in Chubbuck, Idaho. Richard was born on March 10, 1926, in McCammon, Idaho to Lawrence and Madora Nelson. He was raised on a farm in McCammon where his grandpa and grandma homesteaded. Richard was a member of the LDS church where he served faithfully in numerous church callings. Richard was survived by his wife of 56 years Darlene Nelson, three sons Wayne (Lisa) Nelson of Chubbuck, Idaho, Dale (Nicki) Nelson of McCammon, Idaho, and Shawn (Brittni) Nelson of McCammon, Idaho, seven grandchildren, Ashley, Amber, Jetta, Shane, BrieOnna, KayeLyn, and Dallin, and two great-grandchildren Hunter and Ava. Preceded in death by his daughter Judi Kay, parents and siblings. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 14, 2015, at 12 noon at the McCammon Stake Center with a viewing before at 10:30-11:45 a.m. Friends may visit with the family at the Horsley’s Marsh Valley Funeral Home, 570 N. Meadowview Dr. on Tuesday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Burial will follow in the Norton Cemetery.
