Funeral Wednesday for Mrs. Bush

Mrs. Rhoda Nelson Bush, 78, died suddenly at her home Monday morning (6 September 1954 ) of a heart ailment.

Funeral services were conducted at one o’clock Wednesday at the Presbyterian church in Malad with Reverend Walden D. Toevs presiding. He also gave the prayers and the sermon. Griff L. Jenkins was also a speaker, Keith Evans sang two vocal solos and Prof. S. M. Powell played the prelude and postlude music.

Services at the graveside were conducted by Acacia Chapter of the Eastern Star. Mrs. Ione Jones is Worthy Matron and Dr. V. P. Garst, Worthy Patron.

A daughter of Edward and Ann Edwards Nelson, Mrs. Bush was born at Logan, Utah April 25, 1876. Reared and educated at Logan, she was graduated from the New Jersey Academy there and became a school teacher when she was 17 years old. She taught at Spanish Fork, Utah, Logan and Malad. She was married to Albert W. Bush at Logan on 10 September 1903, and had been a resident of Malad since that time.

An active member of the Presbyterian Church, Mrs. Bush was Sunday school superintendent of the Malad Presbyterian Church at the time of her death. She was a charter member of the Acacia Chapter No. 69, Order of Eastern Star and a past worthy matron of that organization. She also served as grand representative of the Idaho Eastern Star to the Nevada organization.

Surviving are one son, Albert B. Bush, Malad; three grandchildren; four great grandchildren; two brothers and two sisters: Mrs. Margaret Thomas, Burley, Idaho; Mrs. Elaine Smith, Salt Lake City; Thomas E. Nelson, Pocatello; Alex Nelson, Twin Falls.
