Rhea Lewis Williams, 78, longtime Malad resident, died Monday, December 24, 1990, in Malad.
She was born June 20, 1912 in St. John to David J. and Maude Thomas Lewis. She grew up and was educated in Malad, graduating from Malad High School.
She married William Errol Williams on August 21, 1935 in Malad. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan, Utah LDS Temple on June 8, 1956.
In 1940 they moved to West Hollywood, California, where they both worked for Douglas Aircraft. In 1946 they returned to Malad, where the couple owned and operated the Millstream Grocery Store.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, served as counselor in the stake Young Women’s organization, was Junior Sun-day school superintendent for several years, and was ward Young Women’s leader. She was also a member of the Malad Fine Arts Club and Parent-Teacher Association.
She is survived by her husband, of Malad; one son, David E. Williams also Malad; a daughter, Mrs. D. Richard (Marcene) Wuthrich, Brigham City, Utah; eight grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Leon (Shirley) Williams, North Ogden, Utah. She was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services were held Friday at noon in the Malad LDS First Ward Chapel with Bishop Jared Crowther officiating. Burial was in the Malad City Cemetery.
