Reo B. Cutler

Reo B. Cutler, age 79, passed away April 24, 2010 at his home in Holladay, Utah. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. His deep generosity and compassion blessed and strengthened countless lives and persists as a cherished memory and example as he continues his journey into the eternities.
Reo was born June 22, 1930 in Nukualofa, Tonga to Jewell James and Floy Ivy Bingham Cutler. The youngest of five children, he was raised in Holbrook, Malad, Downey, Idaho, and Washakie, Utah.
He served an LDS mission from 1950-52 in the Cook Islands. Following his mission he enlisted in the US Army during the Korean War. He met Peggy Jean Craig while stationed in Baltimore for officers training; they were married in the Salt Lake Temple December 28, 1954. They lived in Hawaii, Salt Lake City, Ogden, and Spokane before settling in Holladay.
During these busy years he completed his military service, he earned an accounting degree and an MBA from the University of Utah, raised a family, and built a successful career in business. He worked as a stock broker, financial consultant, and branch manager for brokerage firms in Ogden and Spokane. He eventually owned and managed his own firm in Salt Lake City, where he also served with distinction as President of the Utah Stock Exchange and as District Chairman for the National Association of Securities Dealers. Along the way he also served as Bishop, High Counselor, High Priest Group Leader, Scout Master, and Gospel Doctrine Teacher in the LDS Church.
Although slowed by health challenged later in life, he was devoted and attentive to the needs of his family and friends and perceptively interested in world affairs up to the day of his passing.
