Malad, Idaho. Our Mom, Rena Donohue Smith Woodward, 50, passed away peacefully at home June 15, 2012 surrounded by her family and friends.

She was born August 8, 1961 in Fort Yates, North Dakota. She was adopted by Sherm and Juanita Smith in the spring of 1967, while living in Clearfield, UT. She attended school at Dugway Proving Grounds while living in Skull Valley, Ut., and Thirkill Elementary, Soda Springs Jr. High, and the High School, all in Soda Springs, Idaho. She graduated in May of 1980. She attended one year at Idaho State University in Pocatello, Idaho, where she focused on general studies and having fun.

Rena was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and served in several leadership positions while in the Young Womens program.

She met and married her sweetheart, Gary December 31, 1990 in Malad, Id. They started their lives together, made their home, and have raised their children there.

Rena was a lover of life, and friends, but mostly of family. Her favorite thing to do was bowling and bowled with the Friday Night Guys and Gals and Monday Night Womens’ League for several years. She enjoyed spending time with her girlfriends and having fun. She worked at the Dude Ranch for 20 years, where she got know the good people of Malad. She enjoyed the work there, her co-workers, and sharing in the lives of the customers.

She is survived by her husband and love of her life, Gary Lee Woodward, sons, Bradey Lee Smith and Samuel Tyrail Woodward both of Malad, her daughter Cassie Dawn, and husband Brandon Purdum also of Malad; her grandchildren Kelsey, Kaylee Dawn, Kaden and Kolton, Brother, Lafe D. Smith, Sister, Lana (Larry) Rosen and children, Joshua, Jacob &(Christine), Makisha, Whitney & (Isaac Kvistad).

She was preceded in death by her parents, Sherman Burdick Smith and Juanita Ann Donohue Smith.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday June 20, 2012 at 11:00 am in the Malad LDS 5th Ward Chapel 20 S. 100 W. Friends are invited to visit with the family at the Horsley Funeral Home 132 W. 300 N. on Tuesday evening from 7-8 pm and on Wednesday at the funeral home from 9:30-10:30 am. Burial will follow in the Tremonton, Utah Cemetery.

Rena would like to express gratitude and a heart felt thanks for all of those who have attended, served, labored and prayed for her and her loved ones.
