Ren Ray Bowen

Ren Ray Bowen, 76, died December 22, 2003, peacefully at home with his family, following a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born April 27, 1927 in Malad, ID. His life journey took him to Sea Side, OR, Aloha, OR, Marathon Shore, Florida and Salt lake City, UT before returning to Malad. He was recently honored for being a fifty year member of the National Letter Carriers Assoc. Union, serving as Idaho State President for many years.

Ren Ray loved the Malad Valley and was glad to be home. He loved to hunt and ride snowmobiles. He was known for his sense of humor, wood burned art, wood carvings and lighted yard at Christmas. Ren Ray participated in many of the local parades providing floats or walking his duck with lighted horns. Ren Ray never met a stranger.

Surviving are sons, Don Ray (Clydene) Bowen, Sandy, UT; Joseph Brent (Christine) Bowen, Malad and Bradford Bowen, Denver, CO; and daughter, DayOnna (Richard) Williams, Laguna Hills, CA.

He had 14 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; three brothers, LaVar Bowen, Robert Bowen, George Bowen; two sisters, Helen Harris and Kathalee Nelson.

He was preceded in death by his parents Clyde and Laura Bowen, two brothers, Thayne and Johnny and one sister, Annie Woosley.
