Raymond J. Adams

Our beloved Ray passed away September 27, 2002 in Sandy, UT surrounded by his loving family after a long, courageous battle with colon cancer.

He was born June 22, 1947 in Artesia, CA to Loyd H. and Jennie W. Adams. He married Virginia Austin, Nov. 7, 1987 in Taylorsville. Their marriage was later solemnized June 26, 1993 in the Provo LDS Temple. He was an active member of the LDS Church, having served a mission in the Alaskan-Canadian Mission. Ray also served in many other callings as well. The most important mission for him was that of serving his family. His example of strength, selflessness, unconditional love and devotion will be missed.

He lived in California, Kanosh and Salt Lake City. Ray graduated from South High School in 1965. He owned and operated his own electrical company, R.J. Adams Electric. He loved hunting, camping, drag racing and dreaming of his 1963 Stingray Corvette. Ray was able to fulfill his dream of returning to Hawaii with his family prior to his passing.

Survivors: wife, Virginia; children, Jared (Celeste), Jaben, Kiley, Chelsea, Brittany; mother, Jennie W. Adams; brothers and sisters, Madelyn Billington, Tom (Jane), John (Teresa), LoyDean (Fred) Bobo, Stan (Rita); half brother, Loyd K. (Mary); and previous wife, Kristi Jensen. He was preceded in death by his father, Lloyd H. Adams.

Services were held October 2, 2002 in the Hidden Valley 1st Ward Chapel.
