Ralph Cromwell Gibbs

Ralph Cromwell Gibbs, age 82, died Friday, Feb 12, 1993, at the St. George Care Center.

He was born March 17, 1910 in Portage, Utah, a son of Joseph Edward and Mary Lucinda Hoskins Gibbs.

He married Ruth Waldron in the Salt Lake Temple on Jan, 23, 1929. She died Feb 28, 1992.

Ralph was reared and educated in Malad, Idaho. After marrying he lived in various places including Hamilton, Montana and Salt Lake City, Utah. He and his wife moved to Washington, Utah, in 1978 where Ralph was manager of ‘My Blue Heaven’ trailer park in Washington. He continued to manage up to the time he went into the Dixie Regional Medical Center.

Ralph was an active member of the LDS Church, serving various positions. He was a very active High Priest.

He loved to work and was always busy helping neighbors and friends. He was always for them. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, watching sports and he especially enjoyed his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include two daughters, Dorothy and her husband Stanley Oldland; Lona Wolff, both of Washington, Utah. four grandchildren, Louvia Shannon, Washington, Utah; K.C. Valiant, West Valley City, Utah; Ralph Oldland, Washington, Utah; Kevin Christensen, Basking Ridge, New Jersey; eight great-grandchildren; one brother, Alfred K. Gibbs, Portland, Oregon.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Waldron Gibbs and a daughter, Marilyn Ruth Gibbs and a son, Ralph Terrill Gibbs.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Feb 16, 1993, at 11 a.m. at the Washington First Ward Chapel, 82 North Main, Washington, Utah. Friends may call at the Spilsbury Desert Rose Memorial Chapel, 58 North 100 East, St. George, Monday evening from 7 to 8 p.m. and again at the Washington Chapel one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at the Washington City Cemetery under the direction of the Spilsbury Desert Rose Mortuary.
