Quentin Orell Unsworth

Quentin Orell Unsworth, 95, passed away Thursday, November 30, 2017. He was born February 13, 1922, to Charles Clarence Unsworth and Mary Agnes Liljenquist in Hyrum, Utah; the 9th of 11 children. His mother called him her Valentine baby.
He grew up in Cache Valley and lived through the Depression. He enjoyed working with his father, hauling milk with a horse-drawn wagon and learned a strong work ethic that he followed until his last day.
He was a student at the Lincoln school from which he graduated and then enrolled and attended South Cache High school. While employed by Browning Brothers of Ogden, Quentin almost lost his life fighting a forest fire, and although severely burned and spending a long time in a hospital, Quentin was eager to do his part in the war effort. When he enlisted into the U.S Army during World War II, he was stationed at Fort Douglas. He served as a military policeman, escorting German prisoners from England and France and guarding prisoner-of-war camps.
He married Lorraine Jenson on Sept. 12, 1943, in Malad, Idaho. Their vows were solemnized in The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter-Day Saints Salt Lake Temple on Sept. 13, 1954. They lived in Sunset, Utah and Malad, Idaho. He did his best to be a cowboy and take care of his wife and children. He cared for Lorraine during an extended illness for several years until her passing in August 2007.
Quentin was a caring husband, father, grandfather and was loved by everyone he met. He loved being outdoors, taking care of horses, repairing tractors, trucks and cars. His famous words were, “I feel great, I’m only 16 today,” “You work the horse who works.”
He is survived by his children Karma (Ed) Dornfeld, Linda Jones, Pat Kuczma, Rodney (Eugenia) and Sid. His family includes grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Proceeded in his death by wife Lorraine, daughter Mary Katherine and son Quentin II.
