Phillip Lee Boley 63 of Malad Idaho passed away on Jan. 19, 2012 at home with his wife by his side. He was born in Murray Utah on Jan 12, 1949 to Floyd Boley and Jane Airhart Boley. He grew up in Murray attending Christ Lutheran School and Murray High School. Also graduating from Salt Lake Community College and Weber State.
Phillip told many stories about growing up around the Jordan river, camping, rafting, and swimming, with his brother David and friends.
After High School, Phillip entered the US Army serving 6 years. He was in Viet Nam twice. First in medical supply and then as a medic. Finishing his service at Walter Reed Hospital in Washington DC.
Phillip lived most of his life in the Salt Lake City area, but also lived for a while in Texas and California. The last 7 years he lived in Malad Idaho.
Phillip married Donna Jean Vanderwood Erskine in Malad on August 13, 2004. They enjoyed camping, fishing, and traveling together. Some of his favorite trips were camping in the Sawtooth Mountains of Idaho, a trip to Florida, and a cruise to the Bahamas. He loved writing poetry and performing in community plays.
He is survived by his wife, Jean of Malad Idaho, his son James Boley of Bountiful, Ut., Step children, Shauna (Alan) Coleman of Malad. Tracy Erskine of West Valley City Ut. And Ryan (Alisha) Erskine of Soda Springs Idaho. His brothers Kenny of Murray Ut. And David of Tennessee. And a sister JoAnne (Roger) Nelsen of Salt Lake, 13 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. We can’t forget his very special fishing buddies Corey Woodford of Savannah Georgia, and Thomas Cleveland of Taylorsville Utah.
Proceeding him in death are his parents, sisters Helen and Mary and a stepson Joey Erskine.
Our Master Fisherman has gone on a permanent fishing trip.

Funeral servbices will be held on monday January 23, 2012 at 12 noon at the Horsley Funeral Home 132 W. 300 N. in malad. Friends may visit with the family on Monday prior to service from 10:30-11:45 am.
