In 1953 he met the Love of his life Gloreen Ferris. They were married October 30, 1954. They were married over 64 years, she passed away on March 9, 2019, just 30 days ago. He didn’t want to be apart from her. Shortly after they were married, Bill , their 1st son was born while they were living in Downey. Shortly after that, the opportunity arose for Glen and his family to move into his Grandfathers home , Edward Denney , out on the Downey/Virginia flat. In later years sons Kevin, and Brett joined the family. Glen spent his growing up years on the family farm near Downey. He along with his dad and family worked the ranch there with horses, cattle, chickens etc, the way all familes did back then to survive. In 1950 his dad asked him to take over the farm so he could seek employment in Pocatello for the railroad. Dad said “ I want to work for the Railroad too”. Him and grandpa, along with brother Dean figured out a way they could all farm, and both work for the Railroad. He retired from the railroad in the mid 80’s. He enjoyed being a husband and father, always trying to attend the boys sporting events, spending time as a family. Growing up, he spent a lot of time on the family horses. He decided he would trade them in for motorcycles. He and the boys had motorcycles, then later in life he bought a bigger road bike that he and mom would enjoy. They spent many days and hours riding north to Blackfoot, south to Logan , out through Malad and Preston. They logged many miles. He was a member of the LDS church, was an avid reader, and had a big collection of LDS books and scripture. They loved the times when the grand kids could visit and stay at times in the summer months. Dad loved to tinker on the farm until his health wouldn’t allow.
