Olive Lurie Bybee

DOWNEY, Ida- Olive Lurie Bybee, 88, passed away Saturday, Jan. 22, 2000 in her home with her beloved husband and loved ones at her side.
Lurie was born April 2, 1911 in Downey, Idaho to Warren and Sarah Bloxham.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, three brothers and two grandsons.
She married Percy Richardson Bybee Sept. 26, 1928. The marriage was sealed in the LDS Temple on March 3, 1964.
She held many positions in the Downey wards over the years.
Lurie worked for the Sego Milk plant in Downey and the drug store for many years.
She loved her husband, family and life. Percy sometime [sic] referred to her as a high-spirited lady. Wherever there was music and a dance floor you would find Percy and Lurie taking full advantage of both. They danced into their late 80’s.
Lurie is survived by her husband, Percy Bybee; son, Vernal (Janette) Bybee, Twin Falls; daughters, Geri Barlow, Pocatello, Nona (Gary) Dahmer, Pocatello, Sheila Bernard, Salt Lake City.
She is a special grandmother to 16 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.
There will be a viewing this evening, Tuesday, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Downey LDS Chapel. Funeral services will be held at noon Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2000. Friends may pay their respects prior to services from 10:30 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. at the Downey chapel. Lurie will be laid to rest in the Cambridge Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Marsh Valley Funeral Home, Arimo, Idaho.
