Odell Wendell Facer

Odell Wendell Facer, 53, of Mackay, and former resident of Pocatello, passed away Sunday evening, March 28, 1993, at Price, Utah, following an illness.

He was born Sept. 7, 1936, at Malad, the son of Keith Wendell and Neva M. Gleed Facer. He was reared in Pocatello, where he received his schooling. From 1957 until 1961 he served with the Air Force. He had been a heavy equipment mechanic for U.S. Army Civil Service.

On May 12, 1983, he married Debra Hart at Pocatello.

Mr. Facer enjoyed ranching, raising horses and working around livestock, and as a young man participated in rodeos. He also enjoyed traveling and sightseeing, and hunting and fishing.

He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and had made his home at Magna, Utah, and Anchorage, Alaska, prior to moving to Mackay.

Survivors include his wife, of Hesberia, California; his mother, of Pocatello; a son, Scott Facer, Riverton, Utah; three daughters, Lori Ball, Price, Utah Robin Poole, Riverton, Utah, and Wendy Ortega, Salt Lake City, Utah; a sister, Karen Rumsey, Pocatello; four brothers, Norman K. Facer, Anchorage, Alaska, Jerry L. Dennis J. and Rick L. Facer, all of Pocatello; and 10 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father and a stepson.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, April 1, 1993, at 11 a.m., at the Pocatello LDS 24th Ward Chapel at 930 East Alameda Road, with Bishop Craig M. Cooper officiating. Interment will be in the Malad, Idaho Cemetery. The family will receive friends this evening from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Manning Funeral Chapel, 510 North 12th Avenue. On Thursday, friends may call at the 24th Ward Chapel for an hour prior to time of services.
