Norman J. Lish

Norman J. Lish, 63 passed away on December 28, 2010, surrounded by his family. He was born October 3, 1947, in Pocatello, Idaho. He grew up in a loving family including parents Don & Mable Lish and 12 siblings: Shirley Kirkpatrick, Joy Morey, Geraldine Curzon, Gay (Toots) Hoffine, Dennis Lish, Darrell Lish, Connie Cunningham, Diane Beckstead, Betsy Howell, Brenda Whitworth, and Leola Casperson. He grew up in Onyx, Idaho. He graduated from Marsh Valley High School in 1965. In 1966 Norm met Marsha Koester and they were married in 1967. They enjoyed over 43 years of love and friendship. They recently completed their “Dream Home” which he dearly loved. Norm always said his greatest accomplishment was their three sons: Norman Dale (Nickie) Lish, Jason C. (Angela) Lish, and Michael John (Becky) Lish. These 6 provided him with true joy with the addition of 11 grandchildren: Shelby, Luke, Logan, Cooper, Jake, Jed, Alli, Sydney, Boe, Walker, and Gage. He loved being with his family. He always said being with them was the greatest gift of all. Sixteen years ago Norm & Marsha purchased the “L” Ranch. It was truly his pride and joy and brought him much satisfaction. Norm is survived by his wife Marsha, sons, Dale, Jason & John daughters (in-law) Nickie, Angela & Becky. Eleven wonderful grandchildren, 11 siblings, father-in-law- Dale (JoAnna Koester, brothers-in-law Kevin (Pam) Koester and Rick (Peggy) Armstrong, and countless friends. Norm loved to work and also enjoyed hunting, family camping trips and traveling the USA. He was always willing to help and has affected many in numerous ways throughout his life. His favorite saying was, “I didn’t say it would be easy, I only said it would be worth it”. He will be missed but never forgotten. At the time of his death Norm was serving in the bishopric in the Garden Creek Ward. He was a faithful member of the LDS church and served in many callings throughout his life. He is preceded in death by his dear mother Mable, Don (father), Claude (brother) and mother-in-law Bennie Darlou Matthews. Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 31, 2010, at 12:00 pm at the Arimo LDS Stake Chapel. Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, December 30, 2010, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Arimo LDS Stake Chapel and prior to the funeral services on Friday from 10:30 am to 11:30 am. Burial will follow the services at the Marsh Center
