Norma Burnett Champneys Peck

On Tuesday, December 19, Norma Burnett Champneys Peck passed away of natural causes in Twin Falls, Idaho at age 92.

Norma loved her pet horses and dogs. She traveled with her husband,  Udell, and children to work at the horse races and assist her family at the rodeos throughout the mountain west. She was a member of the bowling league in Malad, Idaho, and she enjoyed ball room and line dancing.

Norma was an employee of the railroad where she met Udell Champneys, whom she married.

She worked at The Idaho Enterprise newspaper in Malad and Sears Department Store in Malad. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Norma was born in Rock Springs and raised in Bridger Valley, Wyoming. She lived in Malad, Idaho; Fillmore, Utah; Tucson, Arizona; Salt Lake City, Utah, and Twin Falls, Idaho.

Norma is predeceased by husbands, Pershing Udell Champneys and Loren Peck. She is also preceded in death by her parents, Guy and Harriett Eyre, and brother Jesse Eyre. She is survived by her two children, Christine Champneys Holt of Kingsland, Arkansas, and Rex Champneys of Kimberly, Idaho. She is also survived by five grandchildren: Christopher Holt, Kent Champneys, Jessica Holt, Angie Champneys, Tim Holt, and nine great-grandchildren.

Her remains will be interred next to her husband’s in the Ogden City Cemetery, Ogden, Utah.
