Nola Vanhorn dies at American Falls.
Nola Dell VanHorn, 85, American Falls, died Monday, Sept. 29, at Power County Hospital following an extended illness.
She was born June 13, 1895, in Dayton, Wash., to Morgan and Mima Hunter Johnson.
In 1910, she moved with her family to Arbon Valley where the family took up a homestead.
She married Lee VanHorn Nov. 21, 1914, in Malad.
They farmed in Arbon until his death in 1965.
For several years before he died, they spent the winter months in Idaho Falls, and following his death, she moved to her home in Pocatello.
For the last few years, she has lived with her daughter. Mrs. VanHorn was a member of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Her hobbies included sewing and gardening.
Survivors include one son, Hubert VanHorn, Wendell; one daughter, Mrs. George (Fern) England, American Falls; five grandchildren and seven greatgrandchildren.
Services were held at the Davis Chapel Thursday; Oct. 2, with Leslie Dee Adair officiating.
Burial was in the Falls View Cemetery.
