Nancy Gloreen Ferris Denney

Nancy Gloreen Ferris Denney ( Gloreen) 81, Downey , Idaho . Loving wife, mother, sister grandma, great grandma, passed away peacefully on March 9, 2019 at the Whispering Pines Assisted Living Center, Downey, Idaho, after a lengthy bout with Dementia. Gloreen was born in Pocatello, Idaho, March 6, 1938, the daughter of Ralph William Ferris and Rose Bentley. She was raised in McCammon and attended McCammon Elementary and North Marsh High School. She married Oliver Glen Denney, October 30,1954. Together they raised three boys out on the Virginia/Downey flat; Bill, Kevin, and Brett. She loved being a wife and mother; the boys kept her busy. There was never a dull moment. She was a member of the LDS church. She held many callings including Stake Primary Presidency, primary teacher, and ward librarian Mom cared more about others than herself. Before her health declined, she had a large group of friends that she checked on everyday to make sure they were okay. Gloreen loved the Jazz and the Yankees. She saw a few Jazz games in person and watched them on tv whenever she could. She was an excellent cook. The summers were spent canning and freezing food for the upcoming year. Glen and Gloreen loved to have the grandkids over on weekends and in the summer months. The kids and grandkids were the enjoyment of her life. She is survived by her loving husband Glen of 64 years. Sons Bill (Judy) Murray, Utah Kevin, Logan, Utahand Brett, Smithfield, Utah. Also surviving are four Grandchildren, Joshua, Naomi, Rachel, and Kali. Great Grandchildren are Roman, Nora, Ariel, and Tatum. She is also survived by a half brother Richard Lockyer, half sister Mary Ferris Fritzham. Preceding her in death were her parents Rose and Ralph, step father Frank Lockyer, brother Gary Ferris, step brother Larry Ferris, infant stepbrother Leon Lockyer, and daughter in law Paula Hodges Denney (wife of Brett) A world of thanks to Whispering Pines for their care of mom all these years, Doctors, Nurses, Hospice, and any others that helped on her behalf.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, March 16 at 12 noon in the Downey City Cemetery.  Friends may visit with the family at the Downey LDS Ward Building from 10:30-11:30 prior to going to the cemetery.
