Myron William “Mike” Boyce

McCammon – Myron William “Mike” Boyce was reunited with his eternal companion Saturday, March 20 at 11:55pm in Casa Grande, AZ due to ailing health. Mike, was a long time resident of Southeastern Idaho. He was born in Lava Hot Springs, Idaho 20 June, 1932. He grew up in Dempsey Creek, near Lava Hot Springs. He attended school in Lava and later graduated from McCammon High School. He played football, basketball and the French Horn in the marching band. Mike was sealed for time and all eternity to his High School Sweetheart, Dorothy Jean Lewis 29 May 1950 in the Idaho Falls Temple. Mike worked for the Railroad for a short time, he was also an insurance salesman, Fuller Brush Salesman, gas station attendant and operated the old Chevron Station in McCammon for a time. He spent most of his lifetime as a printer. He worked for the Post Register and retired from the Idaho State Journal. Mike printed the Bannock County News for several years along with numerous jobs for local valley residents & businesses, including the history books for Arimo, Inkom & McCammon. He really enjoyed working with Pocatello and Highland High Schools in assisting them with their school papers as well as printing the Graduation Programs for multiple area High Schools. Mike also assisted in printing the Lion’s Sight & News, and served as a Lion’s Club Member. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling,camping, going for rides, reading and spending time with family. Mike was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served in many areas of the church, including an ordained Seventy and High Priest. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy; Parents, Myron Joseph Boyce and Daphne Dorcus Watts and a sister Ann Jordon. He is survived by three sisters, Mae Reimers, Peggy Black, Rhea Hickman; Four children Michael Boyce, Debra Swallow, James Boyce and Carolyn Robinson as well as 13 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Monday March 29, 2010 at 12:00 noon in the McCammon LDS Stake Center. Friends may visit with the family on Monday from 10:30-11:30 a.m. prior to the funeral.
