Laura Myrl Jardine Willie Wakley

Laura Myrl Jardine Willie Wakley completed her mortal journey on Saturday, October 7, 2017, after complications due to a recent fall. Myrl was born July 2, 1931, in St. Anthony, ID, to Leo LeRoy Jardine and Vera Staker.

Myrl married James Gordon Willie in 1953. Together, they were the parents of Robb, Lorelei, Julie and Jay (twins). Gordon died in January, 1978. She was later sealed to Gordon in the St. George temple in 2003. In 1985, Myrl married Wayne Wakley. She appreciated their relationship until his death in 1998.

Myrl’s life’s work was that of wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her greatest desire was to help her loved ones prosper in their lives. After various jobs, she proudly became an LPN in 1979. She was able to retire from the Oneida County Hospital in 1993.

Myrl’s passion in her spare time was knitting and crocheting. She also enjoyed puzzles, word searches, board and card games.

She is survived by her brother David (Rosella) Jardine and sister Bonnie Hunting. Her children: Robb (Rose Sweeney) Willie of Anchorage, AK; Lorelei (Jeff) Winner of Eagle Point, OR; Julie (Steve) Heinsohn of Brigham City, UT; and Jay (Christine) Willie of Syracuse, UT. Also, two surviving step-children: Allen (Helga) Willie and Alona (Randy) Pentz and former daughter-in-law, Teresa Willes Willie. She leaves 18 grandchildren and their spouses, plus 26 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 14 at 11:00 a.m. in the Horsley Funeral Home located at 132 W. 300 N., Malad City, Idaho.
