Monte Hall Deschamps

Monte Hall Deschamps, age 80, passed away peacefully in the loving arms of his family, March 24, 2009. Monte was born 12 July 1928 in Malad City, Idaho to Lucille and Parley Deschamps. He attended Utah State University and married Theda Evans (deceased), on June 6, 1953.
Monte volunteered “Army Style” for participating in atomic testing at Camp Desert Rock, Nevada, while serving in the U.S. Army in 1951. He was a decorated combat veteran of the Korean War and a member of the LDS Church. Monte was raised on a cattle ranch in St. John, Idaho. He was later employed with the Postal Service as a warehouse manager for Big Value Stores.
Monte was an expert marksman, a two-time champion for the state of Idaho skeet shooting competition. He was an avid fisherman, and he loved to hunt pheasants, ducks and the occasional snipe.
Monte was a mechanical genius, amateur cartoonist, and he left no crossword puzzle unconquered. Monte loved automobiles, avionics, westerns and Perry Mason. He was especially fond of Old Spice after-shave, grapefruit and Steve’s homemade candy. Monte adores his canine girlfriend, Baylee.
Monte is survived by his daughter, Michelle Deschamps; two grandchildren, Nicole (Damian) Cordova; Monte “Jr” Branigan; two great-grandchildren; and his adopted son, Said”. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother Dr. Jay Dee Deschamps.
Daddy, we will miss that mischievous glint in your big, brown eyes and your wicked sense of humor.
A private service for Monte will be held for close family and friends. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the charity of your choice.
