Maynard Marley

McCammon, Idaho…Maynard Marley, 75, loving husband, father, grandfather, friend and hunting partner, passed away Wednesday, August 15, 2012, at his home with family by his side after a valiant 13 and half year battle with cancer.
Maynard was born, January 24, 1937, to Ivan and Hazel Tripp Marley, in Arimo, Idaho. Maynard grew up and was educated in Arimo and Pocatello, Idaho. He graduated from Pocatello High School in 1955. Maynard worked for various ranches and the family farm. Maynard met the love of his life, Gloria Gay Henrichs in 1958. They were married, July 9, 1960, at the old McCammon LDS church, in McCammon, Idaho. Maynard was drafted into the Army, October 1960 and spent 2 years in Korea. After his time in the service, Maynard and Gloria made their home in McCammon, Idaho.
Maynard worked for the Union Pacific Railroad for 43 years. He retired in January 1999, and was diagnosed with cancer in March.
Maynard loved to rodeo, hunt, camp, fish, shoot handguns, rifles, and shotguns. He always treated everyone the way he wanted to be treated. He greatly loved spending time with his wife, family and friends.
He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years; Gloria Marley of McCammon, Idaho, 2 daughters, Sandra (Rory) Barnes of Downey, Idaho, and Susan (Justin) Speelmon, Grace, Idaho. 6 grandchildren; Trevor (Amy) Barnes, Blackfoot, Idaho, Trenton (ShanEll) Barnes, McCammon, Idaho, Shayley (Kurt) Young, Downey, Idaho, Ruger Speelmon, Grace, Idaho, Tejay (Tasha) Barnes, Downey, Idaho, and Chant Speelmon (Savanah Hansen), Grace, Idaho. 6 great-grandchildren, Treyton Barnes, Tyzley Young, Teegun Barnes, Mika Barnes, Kaylee and Alexia Young.
Brother, Joseph Todd (Claudia) Marley, Pocatello, Idaho. 3 Sisters; Carroll Joy Beutler, McCammon, Idaho, Deborah Ellen Maxwell, Rupert, Idaho, Kris Teena Marley, Pocatello, Idaho. Numerous nieces and nephews, best canine friend, Gracie.
Maynard was preceded in death by: his parents, his in-laws, George and Maurine Henrichs, brother in law; Ivan “Tex” Beutler, and longtime friend, Tom Palmer.
Funeral services will be held, Monday, August 20, 2012, at 12:00 noon, at the McCammon LDS Stake Chapel, McCammon, Idaho, Bishop Ralph Wheatley, officiating. Friends may visit with the family at the church on Sunday, August 19, 2012, from 6-8 P.M., and again on Monday, 10:30-11:45 at the church prior to the services. Burial will follow at the Norton Cemetery, with military rites accorded by the Downey American Legion Post #21 and the Idaho Honor Guard.
