Mary Ann Hawkins Black

OGDEN, UT – Mary Ann Hawkins Black passed away December 5, 2012. She was born in Samaria, ID to Thomas and Jane price Hawkins. She was sealed to Denzil L. Black in the Logan LDS Temple.

Mary was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served faithfully in many callings. She worked as a manager for many years and retired from Mountain Bell Telephone Company. Mary received the Woman of the Year Award from the American Business Womens’ Assoc. She loved to read, and was an avid Jazz fan.

Mary is survived by her two grandchildren; four great grandchildren, a special niece, Linda Perkins, who was like a daughter to her; several nieces and nephews whom she was very close to; and a sister-in-law Beulah Hawkins.

She was preceded in death by her husband; son, Ron Black; sister, Edith Hansen; and two brothers, Bill Hawkins and Jim Hawkins.

Graveside services will be held December 7, 2012 at the Ogden City Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to the Ogden Myers Mortuary.
