Mark Harris Showell

Stone, Idaho……Mark Harris Showell, 53, was born April 16, 1956, in Brigham City, Utah to Jess and Marilyn Marie Harris Showell. He passed away on September 23, 2009, in Pocatello. Mark is survived by his parents of Stone, Idaho. His older brother; David (Patricia) Showell of Stone; three younger sisters; LuAnn (Nolan) Branch of Malta, Idaho; Carilyn (Tony) Gillies of Lyman, Wyoming; Karla (Rod) Johnson of Kaysville, Utah and many uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews and friends. Mark attended school at Stone elementary, Malad Junior High School and Malad High School. During his freshman year, Mark became ill. He moved to Pocatello where he finished his G.E.D. and later attended Idaho State University from 1976-1978. He worked for New Day Products and the Department of Health and Welfare for the State of Idaho. Mark had many administrators, teachers, doctors, nurses, aides, caretakers, advocates friends and families, who cared for him during his years. He will be remembered for his courage, endurance, determination, self-sufficiency, good attitude and his true desire to do good. Mark was a fine example and will continue to be his family’s hero. The Showell family would like to thank anyone who lifted Mark physically, mentally socially or spiritually throughout his life. Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 28, 2009, at 11:30 am in the curlew LDS Ward Chapel in Snowville, Utah. Friends may visit with the Showell family on Sunday evening from 6-8 pm at the Horsley Funeral home 132 W. 300 N. in Malad, and on Monday at the church prior to services from 10:00-11:15 am. Burial will follow in the Snowville, Utah Cemetery.
