Marjorie Wilson Baty, (1920)

TREMONTON – Marjorie Wilson Baty, 77, died April 11, 1998 at her home in Tremonton surrounded by her family and friends. She was born September 21, 1920, in Collingston, Utah, a daughter of William LeRoy and Libbia Wilson. She married James Rees “Spin” Baty, April 18, 1942 in Malad, Idaho. He died May 5, 1988.

Marjorie attended schools in Utah, Idaho, and graduated from Lima, Montana High School. She had lived in Brigham City, Craig, Colorado; Garland and Tremonton. She worked as a Bookkeeper at Tri State Lumber, J.C. Penney’s and Don’s Furniture. She was a meticulous homemaker and gardener. Her loves were her children, grandchildren, friends, golf, and the Jazz. She was a Charter Member of the Skyway Golf Club and member of the Northern Utah Golf Association, serving in many capacities.

She was a member of the Tremonton 1st LDS Ward, where she served in the MIA and Relief Society organizations and was a faithful visiting teacher, enriching the lives of all she served. She also enjoyed going to the temple.

Surviving are one son and two daughters, James Rees Jr. (Lynne) Baty, Tremonton; Sharon Baty Brailsford, Brigham City; Colleen (Lynn) Rose, Lafayette, California; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are two brothers, Don Wilson, Nampa, Idaho; William (Bert) Wilson, Provo; four sisters, Althea (Lee) Orme, Sunset; June (Ray) Walker, Cove; Gloria (Merle) Phillips, Arimo, Idaho; Margo (Pat) Murphy, North Little Rock, Arkansas; also special friends, Glen and Aldean Gibson, Phoenix, Arizona; Charles and Eloise Goodliffe, Tremonton.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, a sister Vonda and her parents.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 14, 1998, 12 noon at the Tremonton 1st Ward Chapel, 166 No. Tremonton St., with Bishop Lyle Vance officiating. Friends may call Monday, April 13, from 6-8 p.m. at Rogers and Taylor Funeral Home, 111 N. 100 E., Tremonton.

Interment in the Tremonton Riverview Cemetery.
