Marion Burton Draper

Marion Burton Draper, 72, of Malad, died Thursday, March 12, 1992, in the Oneida County Hospital of apparent heart failure.
She was born October 15, 1919 in Downey, Idaho, a daughter of William Johnson and Mary Christa Simpson Burton. She married Ralph Earl Draper August 24, 1939, in Pocatello. Mr. Draper died September 22, 1971.
She was a graduate of Downey High School and a member of the LDS Church. She had worked 30 years for the Malad school district. She enjoyed cooking and handiwork and loved watching the Utah Jazz basketball team. She also enjoyed being with the Malad senior citizens. Marion was a friend to everyone.
Survivors include one son and one daughter, Earl Dean Draper of Grand Junction, Colorado, and Mrs. Wilbur (Carol) Chitwood of Chubbuck, Idaho; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; two brothers and two sisters, El ward (Snub) Burton and Donald Burton, Mrs. Pearl Bybee, all of Downey, and Mrs. Elizabeth Hooper, Providence. Utah. She was preceded in death by her husband, two brothers, Alvin and Douglas Burton, and five sisters, Viola Rumsey, Sarah Moon, Blanche Stephens, Marva Sorenson, and Alice Burton.
Funeral services were held on Monday at noon in the Malad LDS Third Ward Chapel, Bishop Brad Thorpe officiating. Burial was in the Malad City Cemetery.
