Service held Thursday for Maria H. Anderson

Funeral was conducted Thursday at Benson Funeral Home for Mrs. Maria Hughes Anderson, age 87, who died at Lava Hot Springs on Feb. 28, 1975.

Bishop Gordon Crowther officiated. Family prayer was offered by Sheldon Smith; invocation, W. L. Baker; benediction, Dean Williams. Speakers were President Wayne Kent and Bishop Jesse Hughes who read the obituary. Two solos were sung by Carol Daniels, accompanied by Patsy Bybee, who also played the prelude and postlude music.

Fay J. Evans offered the dedicatory prayer at Malad City Cemetery. Second Ward Relief Society, Janet Harding, president, was in charge of flowers.

Casket bearers were Levi Hughes, Ralph Hughes, Stephen Hughes, Dan Anderson, Jack Anderson and Dean Williams.

Benson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Maria H. Anderson, 87, died Friday at Lava

Mrs. Maria Hughes Anderson, age 87, died Friday in Valley View Nursing home, Lava Hot Springs, of a long illness.

Mrs. Anderson was born March 31, 1887, at Samaria, a daughter of Lewis and Mary Ann Davis Hughes, Sr. She was married to Lorenzo Anderson Sept. 12, 1907 in Salt Lake. Mr. Anderson died Jan. 18, 1958.

Mrs. Anderson received her education in Samaria, Idaho and Logan, Utah, schools. She was a member of the LDS Church.

Surviving are a son, Lorin Lorenzo, Portland, Oregon; a daughter Mrs. Charlotte Chatterton, Ogden, and five grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held Thursday noon in Benson Funeral Home where friends may call Thursday prior to service. Burial will be in Malad City Cemetery.
