Delaine Archibald
Margery Delaine Archibald, 81, passed away Wednesday, March 23, 2005, at the LDS Hospital, Salt Lake City, Utah.
Delaine was born June 7, 1923, at Malad, Idaho, to Ralph W. and Margery Jones Williams.
She married her high school sweetheart, Elden Glen Archibald, on January 7, 1942, in the Logan, Utah Temple. Though she will be greatly missed, she is now reunited with her beloved husband, who passed away April 22, 1993.
Delaine is survived by two sisters and one brother, Nadine Ovenden, Murray, Utah, Shelba (John) Tingley, Orem, Utah, and John (Venetta)Williams, Santa Cruz, Utah.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Eugene Williams.
Counted as her greatest treasures are her six children: Edward (Karen) Archibald, Gilbert, Arizona; Dennis (Georgia) Archibald, West Jordan, Utah; EldaLaine (ElRay) Allen, Malad, Idaho; Sandra (Ken) Jensen, Magna, Utah; Darlene (Howard) Scot, Delta, Utah; Cynthia (Randy) Dahl, Provo, Utah; 32 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren.
Delaine lived most of her life in Malad, Idaho, where she was active in community affairs and her church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Those who know Delaine will remember her for her hard work, exemplary service and love for others. Other’s needs and concerns were often placed above her own.
She and her husband blessed the lives of many people as they served 12 years as ordinance workers in the Logan, Utah Temple, and then served a Temple Mission in Atlanta, Georgia. Delaine also had the opportunity to share the gospel of Jesus Christ, which she loved so much, with others as a stake missionary.
Delaine was an excellent seamstress, making many of her children’s clothes, and also enjoyed quilting and crocheting. Not only did her children and grandchildren enjoy receiving items made by Grandma, but they enjoyed the time spent with her, as she taught them to do the things that she loved and enjoyed.
Funeral services were held Saturday, March 26, 2005, at 2:00 p.m., in the Malad LDS Fourth Ward Chapel. Burial was in the Malad City Cemetery.
