Marcedis Hill Ashton Bowen

Marcedis Hill Ashton Bowen passed away on March 25, 2006 at the Oneida County Hospital.

Marcedis was born September 24, 1932 in St. John, Idaho to Della Gleed Hill and Zephiniah Hill. She attended school at St. John Elementary and Malad High School. She married Elton Ashton on January 25, 1951. They had three daughters; Cydney, Sandra and Trudy.

Marcedis and Elton owned and operated the Chat N’ Chew Café and Motel from 1968 until Elton’s death in 1990. She married Ren Ray Bowen on September 24, 1993. They later divorced.

She is survived by Cydney (Mark) Ipsen, Sandra (Mark) Colton, and Trudy (Scott) McMurtrey, all of Malad; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren, three sisters: Shirleen hill and Doris Rast, both of Pocatello, and Della Mae Fry of Ogden.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband three brothers: Gene, Warren and Joe Hill; and two sisters: Deon Condie and Rita Hill.

Private funeral services were held for family and close friends on Tuesday, March 28 at the Horsley Funeral Home. Burial was in the Malad City Cemetery.
