Maisie Williams
Maisie was born January 23,1925 in Malad, Idaho to Archibald and Mary Mae Harris. She had beautiful brown eyes, milk white skin, and thick auburn hair. She was the fifth of sixth girls and quietly took the place of a boy alongside her father. She loved spending time with her friend, Bettie Jean as a child playing dolls, only if they could ride her horse Mandy afterward.
She started going steady with Cordell Lewis Williams in high school, and they were married in the Logan Temple on October 10,1944. They soon moved into the “little house” with a new electric stove, and hardwood floors. Soon then-first daughter, Dianne was born November 16, 1946. Dawn Cristine, soon followed April 18, 1950, and then came a boy, Cordell Lewis came on March 23, 1952. They took over the ranch and moved into Cordell’s parent’s home after their death in 1958. Their family tree expanded. Arch Harris was born May 12, 1957, Trudy Lynn, February 8, 1963, and Kathleen April 9, 1965. The family was complete.
Maisie, though shy, often led in many areas from Primary and Relief Society president to Stake Young Women president, sharing her talents and love for others through the gentle gift of listening. Being a bishop’s wife for nine years she was his stalwart supporter. In 1976 Cordell opened Williams Irrigation and for fifteen years she stood beside him through the art of homemaking and nurturing her family. From glorious flower beds outside to warm bread inside, her gifts were abundant.

They served a mission to Glasgow, Kentucky where she was able to interact with the people of the South and spend time with her companion, Cordell. In their later years they spent time in St. George in Winter Haven enjoying the warm sunlight of weather and friends, always returning home in time for April conference. Their favorite calling involved teaching the temple class and they rejoiced as they helped others participate in its blessings. After Cordell’s death in 2006, Maisie moved to Draper Utah and spent time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and blessed them with her kindness, wisdom and hobbies. The last six years of her life, though fraught with illness and pain, found her always grateful, and humble. She was surrounded by her children who cared for her every need until on the Sabbath evening of August 28, 2016, she slipped up to Cordell to be with him once again. They lived in such a way that we know we shall one day meet them again, arrayed in white, waiting for us so there will truly be go empty chairs in heaven.
She is survived by one sister, Bonnie (Wendell) Giles of Bountiful, Utah, six children: Dianne McKee of Salt Lake City, Utah; Cristine Saxton of Herriman, Utah; Cordell Lewis (Winky) Williams of Phoenix, Arizona; Arch Harris (Kiley) Williams of Highland, Utah; Trudy Lynn (Lex) Tracy of Sandy, Utah, and Kathleen of Logan, Utah, as well as 23 grandchildren, and 29 great-grandchildren.
