Lynn Campbell Alder

MALAD – Lynn Campbell Alder, 74, Route 1, Malad, died Thursday (2 July 1987) at his home following an illness.

He was born, December 22, 1912, in Providence, Utah, to Leon Conrad and Vesta Freelove Campbell Alder. He was reared and educated in Providence, graduating from south Cache High School. He also attended Utah State University.

He married Jennie Evans, November 18, 1945, in Malad. Their marriage was solemnized, August 10, 1956, in the Logan, Utah, LDS Temple.

He was a farmer and rancher in Providence, the Pocatello Valley and Malad.

He was a member of the LDS Church, serving for 14 years as a ward clerk under four bishops. At the time of his death, he was serving as the Malad Stake physical facilities clerk, a position he held for 11 years.

He was also serving as president of the Deep Creek Irrigation Co. and was instrumental in the development of the gravity flow system. He served on the boards of the Malad Forest Users Association and the Samaria Grazing Association.

He is survived by his wife of Malad; one son, Jeff Evans Alder, Malad; one daughter, Mrs. J. Roger (Judy Lynn) Arnell, Gresham, Oregon; 10 grandchildren; three brothers, Seth Alder, Providence, and Conrad Alder and Kay Alder, both of Malad; and one sister, Mrs. Dale (Roma) Nilson, Smithsville, Utah. He was preceded in death by an infant son.

Funeral services will be Monday at noon at the Malad Fifth Ward chapel with Bishop Frank Gunnell officiating. Friends may call Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Benson-Horsley, Funeral Home in Malad and Monday for one hour prior to services. Burial will be in the Malad City Cemetery.
