Lyda Jeanene Miller Jaussi


Lyda Jeanene Miller Jaussi, 66, passed away early Thursday, August 6, 1998, at her home following a long illness.

She was born June 3, 1932, in Salina, Utah, a daughter of Janus W. and Ila Ruby Casto Miller. As a young girl, she was raised an educated in various places. She graduated from Corvallis High School in Oregon, where she also attended college. Later she attended Brigham Young University.

She then taught school in Geneva, Idaho.

While in Montpelier, she met and later married Norman L. Jaussi in the Logan LDS Temple on June 19, 1959. After their marriage, they lived a short time on Scout Mountain, near Pocatello, and moved to Malad in 1960.

She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had served in various capacities. Jeanene loved to quilt and had shared her talent with many through her association with the Quilters Club, where she was past president. She had also worked for many years with the youth in the 4-H program. She enjoyed her gardening and raising flowers.

She is survived by her husband of Malad; four sons; Lynn Jaussi of Pahrump Nevada; William (Susan) Jaussi of Garland, Utah; Dale (Louisa) Jaussi of Brigham City, Utah; and David Jaussi of Pocatello; five daughters, Jeanene (Jim) Vanevery of Howell, Michigan; Linda Hansen of Logan, Utah; Estella (Keith) McDougal of Malad; Mary Jaussi of New York, N.Y.; Barbara (Matthew) Schaeffer of Boise, Idaho; 17 grandchildren; one brother, Robert Miller of Dos Palos, California; one sister, Magdelene Nordmark of Mt. Pleasant, Utah.

Funeral services were held Monday, August 10, 1998, in the Malad LDS Stake Chapel with Bishop Mark Alder officiating. Burial was at the Malad City Cemetery.
