Louise Adaline Schoonover

Louise Adaline Schoonover
Louise Schoonover, 97, passed away Thursday, September 26, 2013 at the Oneida County Nursing Home with family by her side.
Mom was born Jun 21, 1916 in Joplin, Missouri to Charles Franklin and Lillian Anna Threkeld.
Louise was a hard worker all her life. She worked the farm since she was 9 years old in the field and cooking for the family.
Louise left the farm and married Nathan E. Schoonover October 5, 1937 in Delta, Colorado.
After their marriage, Nathan joined the Air Force. During the 28 years of his career they raised 5 children.
They enjoyed the military life, traveling to many places and the many wonderful friends they acquired over the years.
Louise loved cooking for all her family and friends. She was known as “better than Betty Crocker” by her grandchildren. Her hobbies, besides her grandchildren, were playing cards, bingo, embroidering and shopping. Mom had a spunky personality and sense of humor that was loved by all she came in contact with and her way with the things she would say would get your attention.
Louise is survived by her children, Clifford Schoonover (wife Sharon; deceased) of Cherry Valley, California; June (Hank) Romero of Palmdale, California; Margaret (Dennis) Thorpe of Malad, Idaho and Judee (Tiny) Schoph of Anchorage, Alaska.
Mom had 5 children, 14 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and 16 great great-grandchildren who will all miss her.
Louise is preceded in death by her parents, brothers, sister, son (Donny) and her loving husband of 57 years.
Louise and family would like to thank the staff of the Oneida County Nursing Home for their loving care. The care provided could not have been more exceptional, kind and loving.
At the request of our loving mother, there will be no services held.
At a later date, the family will gather at Fort Bliss National Cemetery in Texas where a celebration of life will be held. Her remains will be placed with her husband.
