Lorraine John Isaacson

MALAD – Mary Lorraine John Isaacson, 79, of Malad, passed away Sunday, June 28, 1998, in the Bannock Regional Medical Center. She was born July 11, 1918, in Portage, Utah, a daughter of Thomas Parley and Ida Maude Gardner John.

She was raised and educated in Portage and graduated from Bear River High School. She married Carl J. Isaacson on June 7, 1938 in the Logan LDS Temple.

They had resided most of their lives in Malad and had recently celebrated their 60th anniversary.

She had worked for Utah Power and Light Company. Lorraine was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had enjoyed serving in many capacities. She was a member of th Oneida County American Legion War Mothers, where she had served as president.

She enjoyed square dancing and participated with the Malad Boot Scooters Line Dancers.

She is survived by her husband of Malad; one daughter, Dawnie (Richard) Hayden of Tyler, Texas; one son, Max (Karen) Isaacson of Idaho Falls; 11 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren; one brother, Demour John of Caldwell, Idaho; 2 sisters, Rosella Smith of Pleasantview, Idaho and Ethal Smith of Pocatello.

Funeral services will be held Thursday July 2, 1998 at 12 noon in the Malad LDS 1st Ward Chapel, 308 W. 400 N. Bishop Michael Hess, officiating.

Friends may call at the Benson-Horsley Funeral Home 132 W. 300 N. On Wednesday evening from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and on Thursday at the funeral home from 10:30 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. Burial will be in the Malad City Cemetery.
