Lorin Bolingbroke Daniels, Sr.

Lorin Bolingbroke Daniels, Sr. passed away at his home on June 4, 2004 at the age of 95, as a faithful and devoted servant of the Lord Jesus Christ who consecrated his life and labor for the establishment of Zion.

He was born December 8, 1908 in Malad City, Idaho, as the sixth child of Mary May and George Daniels. He was raised in Malad and always thought of it as home. In 1929 he was called on a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to England for two years. He would later in his life serve a mission in Hong Kong as well as Oakland, California.

Lorin graduated from the University of Idaho in the field of business in 1933.

He married his sweetheart, Mary Leona Hornagl in 1934 in the Mesa, Arizona Temple and this year they celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary.

His family resided in Long Beach, California, Spokane, Washington, Santa Barbara, California, and since 1982 in St. George, Utah. Lorin served as a Bishop twice, a Branch President, and as a Counselor in the Stake Presidency.

He is survived by his loving wife, Mary, and his six children; Lorin, Diana, Bruce, Janice, Elaine and David; 44 grandchildren; 92 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Memorial service to be held in St. George on June 11 in the Morningside First Ward. Burial and graveside services will be held on June 12 at the Malad City Cemetery.
