Lola Lorraine House Jones

Lola Lorraine House Jones, of Malad, died May 8, in the Oneida County Hospital in Malad.
She was born December 16, 1900, in Holbrook a daughter of Henry Adolphus and Elizabeth Ann Stephens House. She was the first white child to be born in Holbrook. The newly organized residents considered naming the town Lola, but changed their minds to Holbrook. She was raised and educated in Malad Valley and Star Valley.
She married Myron T. Jones, Sr. in Malad, August 14, 1922. They were farmers in Elkhorn northwest of Malad. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was also a member of the Daniels Birthday club, Poinsettia Club, and the Eagles Auxiliary.
She is survived by two daughters and two sons, Josephine Lambert, and Mrs. J. Clair Carrie Robinson, both of Ogden, Utah; and Myron T. Jones, and Grant H. Jones, both of Malad; 27 grandchildren, 88 great grandchildren; one sister, Leah Lundquist of Napa, and one half brother, UNKNOWN Hardman, Salt Lake City, Utah. She was preceded in death by her husband, three brothers, one sister and one daughter, Lola Jean Daniels Peterson.
Funeral services were held on Monday, May 11 at noon at Benson-Horsley Funeral Home. Burial was in the Malad City Cemetery.
