Lois Marie Taylor Rigby

McCammon…Lois Marie Taylor Rigby, age 77, passed away suddenly January 3, 2012, at Caribou Medical Center in Soda Springs, Idaho.

She was born September 8, 1934, to the late Carl Price and Eliza Barta Taylor in Paris, Idaho. As the eldest of five children, she attended school at Paris and graduated from Paris Academy. On September 4, 1953, she was sealed for time and eternity to Clyde Odell Rigby in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple.

Lois freely gave her efforts to her many church callings. She will be remembered for her numerous thoughtful lessons and insightful talks as well as her picnics and parties.

Lois worked alongside her husband at Challis Drug and then spent many years employed by Forest Baker in his business.

She loved the outdoors and enjoyed camping, hiking, rafting, skiing, swimming, horseback riding and fishing with her family. She was involved in her community and contributed to many civic activities and for a time served as chairman of the Library Board. In 2002 she and her husband moved to McCammon, Idaho where she continued her strong support of church and family.

She loved education, finishing up a degree at BYU in 1995. As a mother and grandmother she was caring and supportive in every way. Her earthly influence will be deeply missed but her example and spirit of integrity and service continues on.

She is preceded in death by her parents and a beloved sister, Barbara. She is survived by her husband Clyde of McCammon, her siblings Carl Taylor of Paris Idaho, JoAnn Storr of Pocatello, Idaho and Margie (Daryll) Floyd of Cedar City, Utah and her children Fern (Greg) Perry of Kuna, Idaho, Dixie Core of Pocatello, Idaho, Devin (RaeLyn) Rigby of Gooding, Idaho, Alan (Julie) Rigby of Hayden, Idaho, and Doug (Mary) Rigby of Boise, Idaho as well as many 19 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

The family extends its deep gratitude to friends and community who have been so supportive during this deeply emotional time.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2012, at 1:00 pm in the McCammon LDS Stake Chapel, 403 W. 16th. Friends may visit with the Rigby family on Friday evening January 6, from 6-8 pm at Horsley’s Marsh Valley Funeral Home 570 N. Meadowview Dr. in Arimo, and on Saturday at the church prior to services from 11:30 am-12:45 pm. Burial will follow in the Norton Cemetery in McCammon. Services are under the care and direction of Horsley’s Marsh Valley Funeral Home (254-3786).
