Services Monday For Linda Abbott

Funeral services were held Monday, 18 May 1959, at the Malad Third LDS ward chapel for Linda Abbott, 9, who died at the Oneida hospital Friday, 15 May 1959, of burns received a week before when her dress caught on fire.

Bishop Hubert Gleed officiated. Family prayer was offered by Grant Jensen. Speakers were D. LeRoy

Thomas , Ralph Tolman and Bishop Gleed, who also read the obituary. Ruth Davis played the prelude and postlude. Mary Rose Jones read an original poem. Eldon Corbridge sang a duet. Ilene Reynolds and Diane Facer, duet; and her classmates sang a number.

Jesse Hughes dedicated the grave.

Flowers were carried by members of her class, directed by the Third Ward Relief Society.

Casket bearers were Lloyd Sorensen, Dale Evans, Henry Gleed, Alvin Smith, Marion Price and Henry Bolingbroke.

Interment at the Malad City Cemetery was directed by Benson Funeral Home.

She was born Nov. 26, 1949 at Malad, daughter of John and Katie Archibald Abbott. Survivors include her parents, a brother, John J. Abbott, Tremonton; and four sisters: Mrs. Ferron (Patsy) Johnson, Thatcher; Mrs. Clair (Nancy) Lott; Deloris and Loretta, all of Malad; one grandmother, Mrs. Nancy Archibald, Malad.

She was a third grade pupil in Malad Elementary School and a member of the LDS Church.
