Lilo Elmer Aldous

Cpl. Lilo E. Aldous killed in Vietnam

Corporal Lilo Elmer Aldous 25, son of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer F. Aldous, Ogden, was killed in action Sept. 15th (1968) in Vietnam.

At the time of his death, he was on a combat operation and was hit by hostile sniper fire in action near the DMZ.

He was based at Quang Tri with Company D. 5th Cavalry Battalion 1st Air Cavalry Division.

He entered the service Oct. 27, 1967, and had been in Vietnam since April.

Cpl. Aldous was born Dec. 30, 1942, in Malad, a son of Elmer F. and Drue Hansen Aldous.

He was reared and educated in Ogden and attended Washington Terrace Elementary School, South Junior High School and Weber High School, graduating from Bonneville high School in 1961. He attended Weber State College 1 ½ years and Utah State university for two years where he was a member of the Rodeo Club.

He was an elder in the Washington Terrace 1st LDS Ward and had served in the LDS Bavarian Mission in Germany from July 1962, to January 1965.

Surviving are his parents, two brothers and one sister, William D. Aldous, Ogden; Fred H. Aldous, Washington Terrace, and Mrs. Byron (Sharnell) Hurst, Ogden, and a grandmother, Mrs. Mary R. Hansen, Ogden.

Funeral services will be announced by Lindquist and Sons Mortuary.
