Lillie Mae Barlow

Former Sandy resident Lillie Mae Barlow died Friday, Dec. 16, [2011] in Arimo, Idaho. She was 81.

Interment will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 22, at Cliffside Cemetery, 15635 Ten Eyck Road.

Lillie was born April 3, 1930, in Mayfield, Okla., to Robert and Winnie (Ritchey) Minyard. The family migrated from Oklahoma in 1936. Lillie was raised in Sandy and graduated from Sandy High School as valedictorian. She resided in Sandy, Portland and Lake Oswego until the mid-1980s.

On Sept. 6, 1948, she married William L. Barlow.

Lillie was a homemaker. She was a devout member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served as president of the primary and young women’s youth groups. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Her hobbies included genealogy.

Her husband preceded her in death on Feb. 25, 1999.

Survivors include her sons, John Barlow of Philomath and Ray Barlow of Salem; daughters, Leslie Suva of Bandon and Marilyn Binger of Arimo; 12 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Memorial donations can be made to the Mormon Missionary Fund, 15 E. South Temple, Second Floor, East
Salt Lake City, Utah, 84150; or to a hospice of choice.

Horsley Funeral Home in Malad City, Idaho, is handling arrangements.
