Lewis Roderick Waldron

Lewis Roderick Waldron, 85, lifetime Samaria resident, died Saturday, June 9, in the Oneida County Nursing Home.
He was born July 19, 1904, in Gwen-ford, near Samaria, to Levi Savage and Davinah Elizabeth Roderick Waldron. He grew up and was educated in Samaria. At 14, he acquired a portion of the family farm and over the years expanded it to include areas of Samaria, Gwenford and 10 Mile.
He farmed and ranched all his life until failing health in 1983.
He married Emma Price on September 3, 1924, in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. She died December 16, 1969.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in various capacities. He was on the Samaria Water Board and was a charter member of the Samaria Cemetery District.
He is survived by a son, Rex P. Waldron, Samaria; six daughters, Mrs. Tom (EmoLou) Parry and Mrs. Dan (Cherril) Anderson, both of Malad, Mrs. Jack (Joy) Neese and Mrs. Boyd (RaLene) Russell, both of Ogden, Utah, Mrs. Jack (Donna) Lewis, Tooele, Utah, and Mrs. Doyle (Ruth) Swenson, Bountiful, Utah; 39 grandchildren; 73 great-grandchildren, and one brother, Ernest Waldron, Samaria.
He was preceded in death by his wife, three sisters, eight brothers, five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, June 13 in the Malad Second Ward Chapel. Burial was in the Samaria Cemetery.
