Lewis Ipsen Dies of Heart Ailment
Bishop Leo Brown conducted the funeral service Monday at Malad LDS stake building for Lewis Ipsen, age 52, who died of heart attack May 3rd at Calpella, California.
Jos. M. Isaacson offered the family prayer; Ren Dives, the invocation; Walter Davis, the benediction. Speakers were John. Roderick, Jesse Hughes and Mary Donna Jensen who read the obituary. Solos were sung by Leora Brown and Jenkin L. Palmer. Prelude and postlude music was played by Mary Lynn Ipsen.
Raiford G. Benson offered the dedicatory prayer and flowers were carried by nieces supervised by Dana S. Benson. Casket bearers were Stanley Isaacson, Ren Tones, Lyman Ipsen, Jr., Dan Williams, Tom Parry and Foster Ipsen.
Interment at Malad City Cemetery was directed by Benson Funeral Home.
Mr. Ipsen was born June 17, 1908 at Pleasantview, a son of Nephi and Margaret Wight Ipsen. He married Leda M. Jones Sept. 29, 1927 in the Logan LDS Temple.
He was educated in Malad schools and moved to California 20 years ago.
His survivors include his widow, two sons and one daughter, Lewis Ipsen, Giants Pass, Ore.; Nephi Ipsen, Long Beach, Calif.; Mrs. Ted Loomis, Farmington, N.M.; nine grandchildren; two brothers, N. R. Ipsen, Malad; Lester Ipsen, Sacramento, Calif.; two sisters, Mrs. Jetta Isaacson, Malad; Mrs. Ella Gilbert, Corinne.
