MONTPELIER, Idaho — Leonard Stephen Castleton, 96, passed away Thursday, August 16, 2001, in the South Davis Hospital in Bountiful, Utah.

He was born Aug. 8, 1905, in Pleasant View, Idaho, to Arthur Robert and Ellen Woolley Castleton. He married Sarah Mae Watkins on Nov. 7, 1927, in the Logan l.DS Temple. Mae passed away Aug. 9, 1974, in Montpelier, Idaho. He married Mabel Teuscher Reeves on June 2, 1976. She passed away on May 23, 1995, in Montpelier, Idaho.

Leonard is survived by three children, Jerry (Jan J Castleton of Centerville, Utah; Barbara (Harold) Kunz of Spokane, Washington; Niel (Diane J Castleton of Pocatello, Idaho; three step-daughters, Ann (Max) Lauridsen of Montpelier, Idaho; Ruth (Robert J Wells of Geneva, Idaho; Lorna (Michael) Paxman of Corona, Calif.; one brother, Leon (Don) Castleton of Preston, Idaho; 15 grandchildren, 22 step-grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren; 38 step-great-grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, 6 brothers and 2 sisters, 3 great-grandchildren and 1 step-grandchild.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Aug. 21, at 12 noon in the Matthews Mortuary Chapel, 702 Clay St., in Montpelier, Idaho, where friends may call that morning from 10 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. and the interment will be in the Montpelier Cemetery.
