Leon “Lonie” Brent Alder

BRIGHAM CITY, Utah – Leon “Lonie” Brent Alder, 35, of Brigham City, died Sunday, July 31, 1994, near Malad of injuries sustained in a pickup truck rollover.

He was born April 9, 1959, in Malad, a son of Kay C. and Aniece Parkinson Alder. He grew up and was educated in Malad, and was a graduate of Malad High School, where he was active in all sports. He later attended the College of Southern Idaho on a track scholarship.

He married Julie Kaye Koford May 28, 1983 in Las Vegas, Nevada, and had since made his home in Brigham City. He had worked several years for Vulcraft in Utah, and was currently employed with Whitaker Construction. He was a member of LDS Church.

He is survived by his wife, Julie, of Brigham City, Utah; two daughters, Melissa Sue and Torie Lynn, both of Brigham City; one brother and wife, Mark and Irene Alder, of Malad; three sisters and husbands, Lynda Kay and Rick Holbrook of Salt Lake City, Janice and Sheldon Vaughan of Malad, and Keren and Tim L. Williams, of Logan, Utah; his parents, of Malad; parents-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Larry Koford, of Brigham City, and 12 nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, Aug. 4, at noon in the Malad LDS Stake Chapel, 200 W. 400 N. Friends may call at the Benson-Horsley Funeral Home, 132 W. 300 N., Malad, on Wednesday, Aug. 3 from 7 p.m.to 9 p.m., and on Thursday at the funeral home from 10:30 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. Burial will be in the Malad City Cemetery.
