Kimball Grange Blackburn

Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, Kimball Grange Blackburn, 56, passed away Thursday, February 17, 2000 at Lakeview Hospital in Bountiful, Utah, surrounded by his family and friends. Kimball was born June 9, 1943 in Price, Utah to Alton Byron and Hattie Avona Blackburn. Kimball completed high school at East Carbon High, college at BYU, and X-ray school in Provo, Utah. Kimball served in the Southern California LDS Mission, which included Nevada and Arizona, and also served in numerous church callings. Kimball met Launa Ward in Provo, and they were married August 25, 1967 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple by Apostle Spencer W. Kimball, for time and all eternity. He was employed as an X-ray technician at South Davis Medial [sic] Center for 22 years and also Ready Ray. Kimball was a superior saddle maker and leather craftsman, and also taught his craft to others. His shop was a place where all who entered felt his zest and love for life. Launa shared his interests, and was his constant companion. Kimball’s skills and talents will long be remembered. Early in life he had two very serious illnesses, but by a miracle and priesthood blessing, he was allowed to live. Kimball was an inspiration to all and was loved by the Lord and all who knew him. He always used the talents the Lord had given him to the fullest and shared them with everyone he knew.
